Looking for some insight and opinions on leveling my 2012 DC. Going to a 17 inch wheel and 265/70/17. I talked to a few shops here in Phoenix and was planning on going 5100s up front this weekend. Then I did some research on here...Should I just wait and get coils (885) and UCAs all at once?

I like the ride on the truck the way it is. When I do go off road its trail riding (slow 4X4) or hunting and camping so alot miles on washboard roads.

Do I even need UCAs for level? Thats not even 3 inches, right?

You don't need UCAs for that.

Only get UCA's if you can't align the front end. If you plan on getting a heavy bumper and winch you will need stiffer springs I have 700lbs on my truck with ARB bumper and 9,000lb winch with synthetic lines. If you are going to be doing a lot of washboards I would skip the 5100's they are very similar to your TRD shocks and they don't respond well to extra weight damping. if you want a lift and no maintenance and value put some OME front shocks on, or if you want a more refined ride $$$ Icon or Radflo.

The 2012 rear leafs SUCK!! OME Daraks ride superior.

Go talk to Will and Cliff at Sierra Expeditions, they really saved me a ton of money by not redoing my suspension like 3 times as I was intending to get 5100 originally and get UCAs also.

    Thanks you guys.

I had the 5100s installed this past Saturday. Still good to know and will probably go OME in the future. 5100s are fine for now.

I did talk to Cliff as well as a couple other shops. He had me leaning towards OME and probably will be seeing them when Im ready to upgrade.

These leafs do Suck. I almost had the dealer install the stiffer springs because I bottom out with little weight in the bed. I talked to the mechanic who did the install on those. He said unless i had weight in the bed all the time it would ride stiff, so I didnt.

Do you have A 2012? Thats Vibration on acceleration go away after the OME Daraks were installed?

that's the difference with a full leaf pack they can have multiple thick for load and thin for flex.

I have a 2012 and I get the vib off the line from a stop only, i did not do the transfer case drop, I will fix mine later with a new 2 piece drive shaft with the 4runner better joints.

you should only need 1.75 in the front to level it out, no ucas needed for that.

i would not go and guy OMEs after you just did billys, they are pretty much the same thing. if your going to upgrade, at least go with a quality coilover so you can notice the difference between the billys and your new ones LOL
