So I was planning to install an OME kit on my own, but after watching tons of videos, I've came to the conclusion that I just probably shouldn't.

Shops are trying to charge me what I feel is an unreasonable amount, so I was wondering if anybody here on tacomaworld with experience would wanna take a day or two and have some fun wokring on a truck and making some money. Would this interest anyone for around 200 bucks?

The things I'd need installed are front struts and coils (already assembled), light racing uca's, rear shocks, and a leaf pack.

I do. I move in a month though so it would have to wait til after that. And I know how it is when you have shiny new suspension parts that are begging to be installed....

Haha ya, in around a month would probably work best for me too actually though bescause right now I'm getting just pounded on by incoming tests and papers so I'm hardly ever free.

Well check back in with me in a month. You'll definitely need an alignment afterward, but the install should be fairly easy

If you tackle it one thing at a time, it really won't be as daunting as you think...the shocks/coils just bolt right in place of the old set. Do those first and you'll confidence to tackle the UCAs, then the leaf springs (or vice versa). I was in the same boat as you the first time I got a suspension set up, and ended up having a shop do it. I had a local tire/alignment shop install my kit for me (front/rear shocks and 3 leaf AALs) for under $300, it was a solid deal. Most 4x4 shops wanted nearly a grand to do it (HUGE rip off). Had a local TW member do my SPC UCAs for $150 or so, can't really remember.

Ended up doing my second suspension setup on my own and it was remarkably easier than I had thought it would be, only thing I haven't done personally are my UCAs so I can't really speak to those. But the rest of it is really just bolt-on stuff, as long as you have the right tools and aren't pressured with time, it's straightforward.

If you were closer to SoCal I'd offer to help out but that'd be quite a drive lol

Ya, I really would like to do everything myself to save as much money as I can because I do have lots of other mods planned. The uca's are the things intimidating and scaring me the most from installing everything myself though lol

No reason to be scared. Rent a ball joint popper from oreilly in case, but normally they pop loose if you loosen the nut and give the spindle a little pop with a hammer.

Okay, I actually think I might give it a try and see if I can handle it myself to save a couple hundred bucks

Getting them out without cutting is the hardest part of the job. Cut the bolts and order new ones if you're intimidated. Then you can slip em in the other way, easyyy.

Which bolts are you talking about cutting? And sorry, the extent of my knowledge on removing UCA's is just a 14 minute youtube video worth of info so there's not much

The big long bolt that goes through the arms of the UCA, some people just cut the old one to get it out easier since you have a new one with your SPC's anyway.

Oh wow, I would've never though about that. Would that make it so I wouldn't have to bend the fenderwell?

Long bolt that holds the uca in gets blocked by sheet metal. You can cut the bolt with a sawzall or cut off wheel or beat/pry sheet metal out of the way and hammer bolt out. Then insert bolt from other direction on assy.

Hardest part is getting bolt out and getting upper ball joint loose. Everything else is just unbolting shit.

Oh okay, thanks. And sorry to stray off the original topic but with ome 886 coils, nitrocharger 90000's, and a half inch spacer I should be able to fit 285/75r16's right?
