My husband and I bought our 2000 Tacoma November 2022. We knew we'd replace it eventually, it didn't check all of our boxes, but I'm surprised at how quickly we've decided to upgrade.

I really underestimated how harsh living on the coast was going to be on it. The frame was ok when purchased, rusty of course, but in decent shape. Both the frame and exhaust have corroded so quickly and now we're looking for another gen 1 that has spent most of it's life in another state or just has a more proactively cared for frame.

None of this is a complaint though, I'm really glad we bought it, it's been a lot of fun to drive and it's been a very good lesson in what to prioritize in our next truck.
