Hey all - Looking to replace my stock Non-JBL unit in my 2009 TRD Sport. I have been reading and reading and reading.

Mainly just looking to have Android Auto, bluetooth, and a much better hands-free experience. I use spotify for music. I am getting tired of using my bluetooth to aux dongle for my phone.

I have been looking at the Pioneer 4200/7200/8200 and Kenwood DNX773S.

Just looking for opinions and ideas from the team. Been digging through the forums and just seeing if I could get some personal feedback.

    Thanks.

You can't go wrong with Pioneer or Kenwood. I have owned/installed several different models of each brand over the years. Try to find them on display somewhere like Best Buy and play with the controls to see which one you like best. I currently have a Pioneer in one vehicle and a Kenwood in the other. I like them both equally.

I was trying to see if android auto was supported on those.

Does anyone know what the hell is the difference between the newly release 8201nex vs the 8200 besides including the camera now?

I'm not sure but I went with the Nex8200. Could have gone with either. But pioneer was running a rebate on the 8200. I got 150.00 Visa card. Better price.

Yeah my needs seem to be pretty close to @Superman910. I bought a Kenwood excelon, but I can't stand their android compatability software. I preferably want a nav unit with serious and android compatability.

How did you like the metra dash kit? You didn't have to flex or modify it any right? Thanks for posting the pics, exactly why I was hoping out of this thread.

Well you obviously know the characteristics of the metra face plate. Haha. Yeah I heated it up a little and bent the top corners down a bit. It's not perfect but dam close. When I first put it in I was like WTF. It's good now.

I like my pioneer so far. The Nav works great and my I phone works great too. Before I bought this was going with the new Kenwood model but they were not out yet. So I went with this. I have Kenwood double din in my Vette with Nav and works awesome too.

My installer had no problem with the Metra kit. Fit perfect.

05-11 don't fit as good as the 12-15 metra face plates. Just what I've seen & read.

Same here - Been reading everything....Lot of people swear by the scosche. Crutchfield pairs the metra up as part of their build kit. Did you use a heat gun?
