How much do you wanna spend?? What kind of sound do you want? I have the same truck as you and I went with magnaflow. I didn't want anything obnoxious and loud so I got one on the larger sized ones. I didn't get the whole system they sell, just the muffler so it was all really cheap.

Change the look mostly. from the muffler on back it's starting to look old and a bit rusty i like keeping the truck running and looking good.

Would you be happy with just a new tip? It would cover rusty factory tip. But no sound.

What about an exhaust chop? Some of the guys here do it for better clearance when 4x4ing.

Don't go with a banks exhaust. The sound is great but very loud on the inside of cab.

    1) A wire brush/wheel, some degreaser and a couple of cans of high temp paint (even BBQ grill paint) in either flat black or silver would fix that for you.

    2) If you are picker than that, look for a cat back that someone has removed from a low mile truck to get a 'fancy' exhaust. I.e. get a 'fresh' OE piece. Most folks have those in their garage cheap.

My Gibson is subtle which is what I was going for. You might consider it.

Always had some sort of performance exhaust on all of my Mustangs (ranges from 5.0 pushrods to 2V and 3V's). However; I'm new to the aftermarket exhaust on a V6 game. So, my opinion will differ from others.

I just put a Magnaflow (#15315) exhaust on my Tacoma. Start up is pretty much what I was hoping for. It didn't sound like a fart can Honda. First trip around the block, loved the sound. A few days later, it's getting louder. And it's not an "it's too loud, I'm getting old" complaint because I have my HCI Mustang sitting in my garage. But, it's more of the "do I sound like a Honda going down the street?" complaint.

Sounds good on the inside while cruising going 35 mph or on the highway. Just what I wanted. Maybe a little bit of drone but as mentioned my Mustang has way more drone so the Tacoma not terrible to me. I just feel like if I give it gas, it sounds like a Honda. It could just be made up in my head, I'm not sure.

Going to throw a Vibrant Resonator on it this weekend, hoping to cut out any rasp. I'm thinking then it will be the exact sound I'm hoping for.

Only good sound on a V6 is a GNx putting the smack on a 5.0.:rofl::rofl:

Just kidding. Nissan mastered it on the 84+ Z / Inifinity cars as well.

But really. No offense meant on the 'stang's. I do enjoy them as well.

None taken. I've told my wife 100 times or more that a Grand National is my next vehicle purchase.
