Well this past week I have been averaging 18 miles per gallon in the city according to the dash. Now I know that's what its rated for but before last week I was getting 15 mpgs and maybe 16mpg if I was really trying. Everyday I do a 10 mile round trip from work that involves 6 stop signs and 3 lights, and the trans is no longer hunting for gears on the highway.

Damn I love this truck, and cant wait for Sunday as I am going wheeling with a pal and his Nissan Xterra.

I just rolled 11K myself yesterday and not having any probs with mine. If I drove it good I get between 16 and 17mpg. Lately it's more like 14.5 to 15 lol.

I was seeing 15 on a good day at first. After returning from a long trip I noticed it's 18-20 with 9400 on the odometer. Will see if the trailering mileage gets any better soon.

Trans seems to still be hunting, maybe not as bad.

When I drove my truck off the lot, I was getting 19mpg.

    Highway I get 24 if I keep under 65mph.
I was driving 53 miles each way for work. When I drove to NC from Dc area, I got 26mpg.

    Same here LOL.

I average around 19mpg on my work commute each morning (both city & hwy - 15 miles total). Highway trips are generally around 20mpg or so.

All stock except aftermarket wheels and Toyo All Terrain tires.

To be fair, it's hard to judge mpg based on manufacturers criteria. With winter gas, varying terrain, varying temperature and varying tire pressure due to climate, and driver, it's very hard to get manufacture spec.

People need to remember that its based on the most ideal situation, ie perfect testing. Hence the term YMMV.

I am sitting at 16,000ish Km on my 2017. I recently had the rev 1 engine update performed at 1st oil change. She runs great. No issues as of yet. I did get a recall notice in June. My dealership fixed the diff before I purchased the truck and drove off lot. Happy Tacoma owner right here :) I will be asking about the leaf spring TSB (just released)next service appointment

I've had no recall, and no tsb work. I had them verify that the trans had full fluid when I bought the truck in 2015

Just got 19.5 mpg on the way to work this morning for 5 miles.

I know its not the whole tank but last week I was getting 15mpg for the half trip and my worst was 13mpg.

I mentioned my truck before as its been consistent at 20 mpg since the day I drove off the dealership lot with 1 mile on it, no Break In required.

You know I think these trucks have a sweet spot for breaking in. I also just crossed 12K miles and I'm finally getting between 17.5-18.5 MPG. Before that it was terrible, sometimes as low as 13.5 .
Or it could just be summer gas who knows? lol

I average 16.1 MPG but do mostly all city driving and live very close to work. Hell my truck barely heats up by the time I get to work or home.

However, we I do go on the freeway it will climb up to 16-21 MPG. I only have 2K miles right now on it so I doubt it's close to being broken in.

I have approx 2000 klics on mine and over 3 tank, have averaged just over 23 mpg in Imperial(read British) which translates to 19.5 mpg in US Gallons
