My AUTO 17 TRDOR DCSB was getting about 16 - 16.5 during my weekly commute, and now that it has rolled 9800 miles I'm getting about 18-18.5 MPG. Still gets 14 when pulling my trailer, however.
As far as the documentation from my 5k and 10k services no TSBs or updates were made.

    Isn't that sweet.

I was shocked and thought maybe it was a fluke but everyday it's getting 18 mpg now.

Mileage never changed for me, it is\was great from the get go. Driveability is another matter, it was never horrible as described by the usual negative suspects here on TW, but improved daily and came full circle around 1800.

After that I felt subtle changes and stopped using ECT one night when I got home and realized it was off but it felt as though I had it on. Now with 24+K on the clock, it thinks it's a V-8.
It's your ECM adoptive learning that is constantly assessing and adjusting to components that's doing the changes, as modern engines don't usually require breaking but it is good practice imo to follow the recommended procedure as stated in the owners manual just to be sure lol!

    Enjoy!
    Cheers!

All this variation in mileage is interesting. Just goes to show how many variables are at play. I was lucky in that I didn't have a "break in" period. About 18mpg driving it fast. For what it's worth, took a road trip from the Bay to LA, averaged 20mpg with a kayak in the back.

ill get 19 mpg for a 54 mile trip if I go 78 mph. conversely, if I go under 65 mph, ill get 24-26 on the same road. Its all about keeping it under 2k rpm, not hard breaking, and coasting.

I'm not a big believer in the whole break in period. I feel perhaps you'll see a 1 mpg difference but that's about it. I tend to feel it's more you getting accamated with the vehicle. I was pretty heavy on my gas when I first got mine. The truck is slow so I would hammer on it. Now I just accept it for what it is and only get on it when I need to. I have seen 3-4 mpg gains in my daily driving. If I really want to increase that number I turn on cruise and can get an extra 1-3 depending on traffic and where I'm at. I just rolled 10k and don't think any of that is because it's broken in. Most engines break in over the course of a few hundred miles. A simple thing such as a change in temperature, atmospheric pressure, or the content/mixture/grade of your fuel can show an slight increase or decrease in your mpg. Not to mention every time you get in and drive your truck will you be giving it the same kind of throttle and driving habits. Way to many variables on a daily drive to actually test that out properly

I average 16.5 to 17.2 with 285/70/17s . I bought the truck with them on it so I wonder what it would be with 265/65/17s. When I drove off the lot I was getting 13 - 14 but then again i was getting used to it coming from a sports car...

This is the highest I've been able to do. 25 mile commute to work. I just wanted to see what it would do so that tank is mostly my commute, no trips to town or to friends house.

Filled up today, 332.3 Miles, 15.54 Gallons = 21.38 MPG which matches up pretty close to the 21.1 on the dash. You can see it is damn near consistent at 20 MPGs when I remember to hit the Eco button on the radio, no break in was required on my truck as its been the same since day 1.
