Shaneckc, I'm guessing you don't have legal approval from Toyota to use their TRD logo for commercial purposes..

Haha, that would take a lot of time to perfect, but it's a good idea!

I haven't had much time to make many things other than parts for my iPad kits, yet.

    Nope.

Not really. I don't need it.

I'm not doing anything on a large enough scale to be considered "commercial." They're made to order, not mass produced. Which makes it more of a service than a product.

I would think that exchanging money for a TRD accessory that is not authorized is illegal, whether it's 10 or 100. Is it not so black and white that an individual can earn a profit selling something illegally, and still be legal?

Wasn't someone else on here making something with TRD logos, and it got shut down due to copyright?

Well, let's just hope that the TRD police don't come bust me and every other member on here selling stuff with the TRD logo on it.

Haha that's the way to go if you can fab it yourself.
Are you planning on using an EDM machine? Plasma cutter?

Really? I'm thinking make an imprint/tracing of the area in question, scan it into your favorite cad program, scale it to match real life, extrude it to 3D of the correct depth, export the file to whatever slicer software you're using for your 3D printer, hit print and get rich. Or in simplified form...

    Step 1: Trace

    Step 3: Profit

    :)

Ohhhh, I totally misunderstood what you meant. I buzzed over that in a hurry and thought you wanted a push-button locking system for the gear shifter. Doh!

Yeah, an insert would be very easy to make. Once I get some time, I'll explore that a little more in-depth, but your suggested method is the correct way to go about it. That's pretty much the same way I've been designing the iPad kits that I was going to print, now leaning more toward injection molding.

They're considered rare, more rare than a TRD Pro according to the FJ Forums. I myself don't care I bought both of the them for ~$30 so I made a grand profit of just one. The other one is tagged in my tailgate.
