    I don't know about his fix, but I super glued 1/8" strips of business cards on both sides. My ashtray fix has lasted me, 15+ years

    First of all, sorry for my English. I just want to help and show the solution that worked for me

    Use a heat gun, heat the plastic part that I show in the image. When that part is a little soft, press it upwards so that it closes more.

    I don't know if I explained it well, but that little arm gets tired over time. You just have to reposition it by closing it with heat.
