I was just wondering if it was normal to have some "play" in your bumper? I was searching for rattle on my truck the other day and when I grabbed the bumper to look under it i noticed it wasn't tight. Is it normal or am I just paranoid?

Your bumper shouldn't have any play within the mounting holes.

It would help us help you if we knew what kind of vehicle you were talking about.

Sorry. It's a 07 trd. Never touched the bumper before so don't understand why there's a slight give up and down.

Tacoma's with hitches have many many bolts holding them on. Get under the truck and make sure the bolts are tight.

Also pop off the cover caps (located on both sides of the bumper ball mount) and make sure they are tight.

Never heard of a bumper on a hitched truck getting loose.

If you don't have a hitch it would make more sense. Tacoma's without hitches have their bumpers mounted on POS thin stamped metal with few bolts holding them. Check the bolts and the 2 POS brackets that are attached to the frame. If the brackets are bent and weak I have some I can give you.

Yeah I've got a hitch. But just checked my front bumper and that one seems loose also. Way more loose than the rear. The plastic bumper in front gives about 3/4 in.

Stock rear bumpers on these trucks seem to sag a little bit... am i the only one who notices that? it's not just my truck... every taco i see with the stock chrome bumper seems to be at a bit of an angle.

Well if you have a hitch IDk....I never had an issue with mine and I hit it with some pretty hard stuff. I know how they mount and unless your truck was in an accident and not fixed correctly there is no way your front or rear bumper are loose.

Can you post a picture of this looseness?

I drove around for more then a year with my front bumper held on by a couple zip ties after an accident and it still didn't move
