The only time I've ever seen an oil filter leak is when it was not installed correctly. The first thing that should be done when you see a pool of oil under your vehicle is to check the dipstick.
    OP needs an EV.

long ago i was lured by one of those jiffy/oil can places with a discount oil change. 1st time i ever paid to have oil changed. while it was being done, a guy came out with a clipboard and tried to upsell all kinds of things. airfilter etc. i kept saying no, no, no. i got home and days later noticed oil on garage floor. looked and found oil filter was not even hand tight. it was intentional.
trolls make commission on upsells, at least they did then at that place.
never again. do it myself on nice day with a beer and no question it is done right.

Guys - I found her oil filter. It was in Kansas, next to her tonneau cover. She asked me to pass along a message:

Tired of people responding to my bait posts. People gave up after one page on my last post from three years ago. Is there a sticker or T shirt that maybe says "Don't respond to my posts."? I’ll use three exclamation points like I did on the last post I never responded to. Thanks!!!

warranty is void if not taken to dealer for service
the only possible exception is DIY with good quality parts
or competent mechanic. such as an independent specialist shop with former dealer techs.

EV's use oil. Coolant. Maybe more.
the entire floor of an EV is an expensive battery people destroy.

My take: During the prior oil change the large filter O-ring was put on wrong. All the way to the base, not in the groove like it is supposed to be. In four months the thing loosened up and thus the oil leak. The 30 seconds of running the engine with little oil idling did nothing. Supposition on my part.
