Just got my truck back from some front end repairs. Noticed a random loose wire with a connector on the end but cannot locate its termination point. Its paired with the purple wire ( which runs towards and under the engine cover) but the grey ( loose w/connector) runs around the battery and hangs out loose near the driverside headlight. Any ideas?

That's not stock...are you the first owner? What is the other end connected to? What module is that?

Grey wire is for a hood pin. Purple is for tach wire both for the remote starter.

It has to be stock I only purchased the truck 4 months ago brand new. Not sure what module it's plugged into. Not sure where the purple color terminates either ( just know it heads somewhere under the engine cover)

Ok well my guess is the repair shop disconnected that and now my remote start will not work? They had to repair all the bumper, grill, rad supports and complete driver side front fender

Notice anything wrong with how the truck functions? I would take it back where I had the work done and see what they did.

Yeah they did install an auto start remote starter at the dealer. What am I missing then?

Yes locks/unlocks with the remote starter fob. Also just started it with the remote as normal. What would the module/part look like that this wire should normally connect to

So the whole remote starter fictions as per normal like prior to accident. So my guess is the grey wire with connector doesn't need to terminate anywhere? Seems odd.

grey wire is for hood pin so when the hood is open you cant remote start the truck.
They probably removed the hood pin when they did the repair. Just tape the end of the connector or get another hood pin. I usually don't install hood pins cuz they fail with corrosion.
