I put a front hitch on my 5 lug Taco. Hitch weighs about 25#. I put a bike rack up there that weighs about another 25#. After I load my 75# ebike, there's around 125# total of extra weight. I used this last summer and noticed a little extra strain on the steering but didn't know it could cause a problem. This year I've started seeing the wandering on the highway on uneven pavement. At one point, my it felt like my power steering was absent completely but that has subsided.

I've got almost 250k now and the Taco is 12 years old so not too much really as Taco's go. Could the extra weight be the cause or more likely due to age? I wish I lived near AMD, aka "The Car Care Nut" on YouTube since I bet he knows the issue.
