Has anyone had issues with the stripping shown in the picture?

It’s loose on both driver/passenger side doors and you can see it flutter when the windows are down and you are driving. It also makes an annoying tapping noise when it’s fluttering.

I mentioned this to the dealer when I took it in for an oil change and they said that it was “normal” and there wasn’t anything they could do since they were able to replicate it with another Tacoma.

I posted about this on a Tacoma Facebook group and got a few responses back that others were also having the same issue and they were also told it was normal and there was no fix.

Hopefully I’m not the only one with this issue. It’s not so loose that it ever comes down with the window, but if you push up on it, and pull down, you can clear as day see that it’s loose.

I’m starting to get some wind noise on my 23 Taco. Only have 6000 miles on it. More annoying is the 4x4 engagement issue I’m starting to have. I’m going to take mine in for both issues as soon as I can. The wind noise issue should be an easy and reliable fix if the truck is under warranty. Best of luck. I’ll post regarding my dealer experience.

Yeah - it doesn’t seem like a normal thing to me either. I pulled the stripping down and it doesn’t look like there was any factory adhesive applied, but on the sides it does look like there is some gray/silver looking adhesive. Maybe it’s suppose to be applied to the top part and was missed or failed?

I may try another dealer and see what they also have to say about the situation.

I agree that I would try another dealer being that your truck is still under warranty. I would let my suggestion be a last effort if you get no help from the dealer.
