They are still in business but we really wanted this model and Affinity RV prices were worth the drive.

Hybrid winch bumper from southern style offroad showed up the other day. Construction looks great and can wait to get around to an install.

Thought I'd share this for anyone interested. 37k is allot but over 500hp and 20" of suspension travel in a UTV is actually kind of a good deal. I won't be buying one but it gets me excited for the future of light trucks. Nikola will also be releasing a larger tractor tuck that uses a turbine power generation system for limitless range trips, similar to what wrightspeed has developed.
It's cool that it's "Green" but even more awesome is the possibility of a taco with 500+ ft lbs of torque at 1 rpm! :muscleflexing: Also consider hub drive electric engines don't require axles, transmissions or T-cases suspension travel is basically limited to the length of the coilover and power cable!

Labor day weekend near sycamore canyon and white horse lake. We left late and set up camp at about 0330. I'm completely sold on my Tacoma now! These trucks are BAD ASS!! The taco had no issues hauling the trailer from Phoenix up to Williams AZ. We were camped very remotely in the woods and we didn't see anybody drive near our camp the whole busy weekend. I even had to put it in 4lo with diff locker and MTS in mud mode to drag the trailer through some deep mud holes. I was very worried about burying the rig but it just kept going!

I checked out the Nikola one and zero. The performance data and specs are impressive. Seems like they could find a middle ground option to make a pickup. nikola_zero_5-bd06326e9a342f7b5a9d6f3eaaa1882edf28be77024fe813e7baf0db504cb909.jpg

I saw this is coming soon from the same manufacturer.

I believe the images are computer generated but according to that timer on their website the UTV should make an appearance very soon. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed electric trucks (done correctly) will be around in my lifetime. I believe that tractor truck will have a micro turbine that will generate electricity so it won't need to be plugged in once the batteries run out of juice. I've read those turbine generators will run on anything flammable from vodka to perfume to diesel. And it will make a cool jet engine sound!!!!

Not that I consider this my style, but Tesla could push the manufacturers to act.

It might look pretty good with some bigger wheel wells, bigger tires and a more aggressive bumper. I'd take one!:D

Installed a mictuning voltmeter/USB charger in the blank left of the steering wheel. It's wired into the "power" button on the switch-pro. It's programed to operate when the ignition is off so I can charge up my cell phone without idling the truck or running the generator on the trailer. I hate to interupt the peace and quiet just to charge up a phone. I had to do a very small amount of dremmeling to get it to fit in the blank since it's designed to fit in a standard rocker switch plate. I'm not concerned about dead batteries since the switch-pro has a low voltage sensor and will shut the charger off before the battery dies.

I also got impatient waiting for parts to show up for my bumper project so I opened up the winch and started playing with ideas of where to store the wireless remote. I used one of my fishing gear keeper/reels to tie it to the passenger headrest. It's easy to find, out of the way and theres plenty of length to operate to the remote from the drivers seat.

Aaaaannnnndddd I scrubbed the crap out of the wheel wells and undercarrige with grime reaper. Looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line!

So far only one other person has recognized NC1701D haha. I never blur it out since it's public record anyway and I'm always curious to see if somebody recognizes it.
