So I never had intent to change skid plates but the stock one took a good beating and wasn't fitting well anymore. The bruises didn't bother me but the poor fitment was causing some super annoying vibrations on rough roads. There was a recent RCI group buy and the RCI skids will work with the diff drop so that worked out great! Went with all unfinished aluminum and added the LCA skids for alignment bolt protection.

While I was down there I removed the sway bar....again. Probably just going to stay off this time.

I would've flexed way harder but didn't have anymore wood blocks:luvya:

    SO SHINY!!!

I actually almost thought of taking the bufffer to them but the mirror finish wouldn't last past the first trip out.

So been doing some thinking about one last mod to the truck. I say last because there's nothing else I really want to do at the moment or foreseeable future. It's an extremely capable and comfortable trail vehicle for our needs and as far as towing our little camper it may be the most tow capable Tacoma around short of pending super charger development or running 225 85r16 tires:puke:

Time start putting fun money away for next project but I've always kind of thought about exhaust. I don't really believe in the performance enhancements but hearing the revs would be allot of fun while tearing ass down fire roads! Then again hearing the exhaust drone while the motors reving 3k while pulling the camper across the entirety of eastern Nevada may be the most brutal thing conceivable!

So anyway been thinking about adding this device infront of the muffler today
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003R2MSA8/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?smid=A30XU5Y510T9EB&psc=1
I could wire it to the swith-pro with little effort and have quiet stock exhaust and pure obnoxiousness at the push of a button.

    Probably sound allot like this

My main concern is if the risk of the valve leaking is worth the fun?

I say just get the TRD exhaust and have the best of both worlds. It's a great sounding exhaust and I love mine.

I have to try to find some sound clips of it. I always thought it sounded the same as the base exhaust but I guess now that I think about it, it is a different muffler. Any droning around 3k-3500 rpms?

We had a great time Camping outside of Flagstaff checking out the Overland expo. We saw allot of nice rigs and camp Set-ups. We're evening considering down sizing with the trailer. Lots of great examples at the expo just way overpriced for what you're actually getting IMO. Thinking hard about building our trailer now!

My next project will be figuring out how to go about some fender trimming. We took a loop through Walnut Canyon and the ST maxx were defiantly making contact. I parked on a berm to find out where. I believe the difference here is that the sway bar is now history.

The 255 ST Maxx are so money BTW. Ive been running the rears at 65psi loaded with the trailer and getting better GPMs with the trailer than with the smaller, lighter 265s. They flex well too at low psi.
