    I'll have a pit.

To those going to the remote camp site, how far off road is it?

I'm going out Friday night, but don't know the "exact time" I'll be ready to leave HB??? I'm guessing, at the moment, I'll be ready by about 6:30pm? Could be much later? But that is my plan so far. I've been at that primitive camp site a few times, but I NEVER "drove" there by myself as my friend always led the way. I simply had no reason to "lead":notsure: If you have a GPS navigator unit, punch in:

    5525 Split Mountain Road
    Borrego Springs, CA 92004

That will take you to the "Split Mountain Store" that is JUST SOUTH of the 78fwy. Google it and you will see what I am talking about. From there, just keep heading SOUTH on Split Mountain Road. As soon as the road turns into "dirt" you will notice a HUGE dirt lot off to the right... take THAT. HINT: just ahead, off in the distance is a Plaster Mine that is VERY BRIGHT at night, you definitely know you are in the area. In the "Conversation" about Anza, I annotated a map... here it is again... This should give you a really good idea of where it is located.

The primitive camp ground is, literally, just at the mouth of the entrance to Fish Creek Wash!

Happy Wheel'n, safe travels, and hope to be there by about 10-11pm is the best I can do?!

EVER REE ONE, THIS IS A VERY TRUE STATEMENT!!! The chippies can be "heavy" in this area. Don't say I didn't warn you!!! Also, PLEASE watch out for those corner blind spots!!! I canNOT STRESS this enough!!! I just don't want people getting hurt!!! The road tends to get VERY NARROW at certain corners!!! PLEASE!!!

    Happy Wheel'n and safe travels
