Pretty sure it was backbone and it might have turned into something else. Definitely backbone to get to the canyon though... If I ever get 4x4 and a shorter wheelbase, I want to try that one again...

I did it when I got home by hand. I know some carwash places steam clean engine bays (I don't know how much they charge) and some even use pressure washers with degreasers, but that is usually for old greasy engine bays such as car restorations or full-on showcars and the like. For a little dirt, don't be afraid to get in there and get to work. Just watch your electrical connections and air box. If you ever try this and notice something funky with your electrical, take your connections apart and spray some WD-40 or dielectric grease in them. That gets water out of the connections and should protect from corrosion....

My dad has been a mechanic since before I was born and he always made me wrench on cars with him. I really hated working on greasy junk. That's why I'm so anal about cleaning it. If I ever need to work on it, it should be relatively clean. A little maintenance goes a long way...

yeah, i didn't want to go forward either. it got REAL narrow quick. and the trail just stopped. there was no way the ford would have made it. Its a much wider truck.
