When I went to the Grand Canyon it was 30 miles of bushes. It would have taken a year to choose it all haha

Don't most overland guys carry axes and shovels in their rigs at all times anyway? I thought those were just for better aerodynamics/MPGs?

Haha I carry a shovel in case I get stuck or have to shit in the woods...

I would never use an axe. I bring a machete in case there is something really in the way. People would look at my truck like I was a mad man if I had an axe on the roof rack. Just one more thing to worry about being stolen in downtown.

I've been thinking about mounting 2 chainsaws on my bumper and running them through my trucks gas tank. It would Help with brush and the impending zombie apocalypse.

    No I'm totally original...

Can't wait to see what happens on TW during the zombie invasion. We are the first to die probably.

I dunno. There is the prepper thread. And a lot of the overland guys can live in their trucks. If anything, we're a step ahead. Now if I could just find a way to mount a turret on the roof of the cab...

But think of how much of a target a truck that looks like it just came out of mad max is!

If the shit hits the fan, I'm ripping the back seats out of my girlfriends Ford Fiesta, loading it up with my survival gear, and nonchalantly cruising into the sunset...

My truck would get me robbed immediately. It's the same thing as the guy with an AK on his back is a larger target than a guy with a handgun down his pants.

Now I'm ranting. I wish I felt safer to keep my truck if there was a disaster. Maybe if it was fully geared and ready to live in if just cruise into the desert...

Screw it, I'm also going to mount a guy that plays a flamethrowing guitar on my hood. That'll keep would-be robbers at bay!

Who is op? Is that me? I yell a lot. I use exclamation points instead of period when I'm on mobile for some reason. I'm easily excited.

Oh good. Maybe if I start carrying an axe on my truck I'll feel better about keeping it during the apocalypse.

I use the apocalypse as an excuse to mod my truck when my girlfriend gets irritated.

"Matt stop putting black metal shit on your truck"

    "Think of the apocalypse Linds!"

You're right about one thing though. The more cool stuff we put on our trucks, the more we gotta worry about sticky fingers. FYI, I found a place in Chattsworth that carries all kinds of fasteners (including security fasteners). Just got some for my LED pods. Racing shop. Cool dudes.

I don't see how that is relevant on a forum.

Nice. That's right on the way to school for me. I'll look for them. My bar is unspeakable right now unless you broke it in half since you have to take my bumper off to get it.
