Losing oil, possible valve cover gasket

    You have to realize that if you are leaking oil into your spark plug holes with leaking valve cover gaskets you are not going to necessarily have useful information from exhaust smoke until you get that fixed.

    Check your radiator and make sure you don't have a milkshake.

    The only other recommendation that is likely worth following would be to do a compression test on your cylinders. If you have a good compression test, and you can't find oil on the outside of the engine anywhere then the most likely culprit is going to be a valve cover gasket (which you already confirmed is bad) and possibly a PCV valve. I'd replace both if I were you (following a good compression test).

    Then after you fix the oil burning in your cylinders, then you can move downstream and address your exhaust/catalytic converter issue.:)

    Yes sir, I got the new pcv valve in. I’ll try to get that compression test done.

    I am actively monitoring the oil, as of my high end consumption from the oil changes it would look like I’m burning 1 quart every 1650 miles. I’ll monitor this with the dipstick and once I can get that compression test done I’ll report back.
