Loss of high end power, help!

Now you say replaced by Toyota, do you mean they covered the cost because of a recall type situation or you took it to a dealer? Cuz if mines bad and I can get it replaced for free, I'm all over that, haha.

 

It was a repair notice they sent me. The cat from the factory was defective. I don't believe your year model will be covered. (Mine was a 2013).

Cats break down though, it's normal, and clog the exhaust. I bet if you replaced it, it would solve your problem. Not to mention it'll be WAY cheaper than if you had a fuel problem.

 

I've put so much money into this truck in the last month for the A/C as well, if this problem comes back, it's gonna be a "deal with it" situation until it causes a non-start, I can't afford to be replacing any more parts. Quick google search turned up about $180 for a replacement.

 

Just gut the cat you have then. Won't need to worry until you have an emission inspection if you even have to worry about such things.
