Are you saying that you ran the engine with the sending unit removed and oil didn't squirt out of the hole for the sending unit?

If so... Don't do that unless you want to replace the engine.

    Check the dipstick.
    Does it have oil?
    At the proper level?

What assures you the sending unit works properly if no pressure is indicated? Think the dipstick would be where one would start and look for any oil discharge/streaking.

Oil flows from the pan to the oil pump.
From the oil pump to the oil filter.
From the oil filter to the oil cooler (if equipped)

Check your oil, then filter first.
That’s the easiest things to check.

    Still thinking about it.
How can you tell that you have no oil pressure? My 2015 base model only has an idiot light.

    Wow this escalated fast...

So When you ran it for a second to see if anything squirted out... Did it?

I assume it did not since you have now torn it down to the intake screen and have the entire front of the engine off ( assuming timing cover etc...).

How do you know that the pump is OK?
