Today while pulling out of my street I was accelerating and just lost all power. Dropped down to idle for 2-3 seconds then picked back up like nothing was wrong. About one mile after that the same thing happened. Would get in the accelerator and then just lost power, almost felt like someone cut electrical to your truck. I first thought it was a cold weather issue and I just turned my truck on and it had not got to operating temp yet. I tried and tried to duplicate but couldn't get it to act up on purpose. Then it happened about 10 minutes later on the highway running about 70 I jumped on the accelerator to pass someone and same thing. Complete loss of power then picked right back up like nothing happened. No check engine light came on or any other lights. I'm taking it to AutoZone  (kills me saying that lol) to see if there are any pending codes.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before???? Like I said I tried to purposely duplicate and can't. Other than what I just described I can't tell more. I use the same QT gas as always for the last 30k miles of its life. Spark plugs are new. I haven't cleaned the throttle body but will check that when I get home. I was thinking it's possibly a bad throttle position sensor that's got a bad spot so if it gets stuck on that spot it defaults to a 0% throttle position until it picks back up. But assume that would throw a hard core and a check engine light immediately. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'll take any y all got. Without a scantool or code reader I'm kind of in the dark with it. Would love to get a snapshot of all the sensors when it acts up.

A possibility is the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor being on its way to failing (Toyota had a big problem with this a while back). The symptoms you described sound much like the description in the DTC listing:

After more driving and narrowing down the symptoms and How to duplicate it. I used to be a tech at Lexus and remember the whole unintended acceleration and when we would reflash the ECU, the brake pedal would override the throttle. It felt exactly like this so when the issue would happen I would kick the brake pedal or pull back up on it and then it would work fine. So I replaced the brake light switch behind the brake pedal and so far on my way home afterwards and had no issues. So hopefully this is the fix. I really appreciate the info bud!!
