My first gen had an e-locker swapped in and it was just wired to a switch so you could engage it any time.

I don't think it's ECT, the ECT switch has 4 pins.

I was thinking of adding in an e-locker myself. I know the harness coming out of the pumpkin has something like 8 or so wires then it merges with the rearend harness.

It's not as simple as just wiring it to a switch. You have to make sure you don't burn out the motor by applying too much power, and you have to cut the power when it locks. There are a few tutorials on how to do this with a couple of relays and a DPDT switch instead of using the stock computer.

Do you keep the 4WD control computer or do you bypass it?

My bad it had all that, but didn't require a computer - I was trying to make that point. Never got too into it because it's getting swapped out for an 8.4 2nd gen axle when I redo the rear suspension.

I looked up the connectors that belong to your truck on AllData, and these are the closest connectors I could come up with.

It's either A14 which is for your A/C switch (which is unlikely) or R2 which is for "Radio/Player". Those are all the connectors that has the same pinout as that connector you pictured. At least for a 2000 2.7l 4x4

Same thing I was coming up with. That's why I asked wire colors.

I'm still curious about this connector. I'm out of town now but will try to pull the kick panel and get a closer look at those wires next week. I appreciate your time helping figure this mystery out.

Does it go into a main wiring loom? If it's just by itself and not combined with any other factory wiring it could be aftermarket. It looks like a switch connector to me.

Take a multimeter or test light and see if you get and signal or voltage on any of the pins. I'm guessing there might be 12v on the green or red. Try with the key in the ACC, off, and engine ON

    Looks factory to me.

    Red/blk has 12v
    Grn/red has 12v
    Lt grn/red has 2v
    Blk has 0v
    Wht/blk has 0v

All voltage stayed the same whether off, acc or on.

That's definitely arguably factory, I can see it goes into the factory wiring loom.

When I did my power door conversion, the '04 double cab I got parts from had two computer modules under the driver's kick panel. One for the rear locker (aka 4WD Control) and one for the RS3000 security module. My best guess is that it's for one of those. Do you have power locks?

Here's the back of the RS3000 module:

The fact that all the wires stay on whether or not the truck is on or off makes me think it's for a security system.

I'm stumped. Best guess is for a security system that requires constant power. Usually power to most accessories are turned off with the car.
