Alright boys, figured I may as well join the club and start one of these up, mostly to have somewhere to keep track of my goals/progress and to be able to bug people for advice about what to do to my truck next.

I'll start with a little background: the toyota tacoma has pretty much always been my dream truck. My parents started me out on an old car in high school and I was always jealous of the guys driving trucks. So I spent a few months working in Hawaii flying tourists around the islands (tough life right) and when I come back my dads like, "I'll go ahead and find a car for you to drive and you can just pay me back for it." So I didn't have any idea what kind of car he was getting me but I was expecting something like a 90s ford explorer or whatnot.

ANYWAY, I get home to georgia after about a 17 hour trip with multiple layovers and sittin in the driveway is this beauty

    image.jpg

2004, offroad package SR5, manual transmission with rear differential locker. It's pretty much all the truck I ever wanted.

THEN I made the mistake of joining TW, got where I realized that the mods will pretty much never end.

Drove it to kentucky and back, then out to texas for my current job here. Got my front windows tinted to %35 and got black rock 997's....

And that's how she sits today. Next I'm probably going to put bilstein 5100's on just the front to level it out, and see how I like it. I considered the full bilstein/eibach 3" lift but larger tires are not currently in my budget. I figure I can start with the 5100's on the front and add to that later.

This is more than likely gonna be a pretty gradual process so keep your pants on.

    Future mods:

    Toolbox

    Magnaflow 14" - done

Wet okole seat covers - done

    Weathertech floormats - done

    Offroad winch bumper

Lift - front 5100s installed. Eventually will add eibach or 881s and aal

    Stereo/aftermarket audio system

    Deckplate mod

    Light bar/after market headlights

    Move up to 265/75/16 tires

Some sort of LED interior setup? I've seen some pretty cool ones on here.

Bilstein shocks ordered for the front. Looking forward to see how the truck looks leveled. I'm going to look into DIY'ing the install, but not sure how difficult of a process it is. Also I've heard some pretty scary stuff about compressed suspension coils.. So we'll see how it goes

Thanks man! I thought they added quite a bit of sex appeal too lol. Your truck looks pretty similar except maybe late 90's?

Yeah, you're at 166 pages holy hell. If it was all about your truck you'd be able to go to space in it by now

Yeah, you might as well come join us. We all had our own build threads, but every time I did something to my truck I just posted it in Wyatt's build :p

Thanks! Definitely needing more info on that passenger pleasing device controlled by the Atari joystick. Sounds like Itd be pretty tough to work out the kinks..

I'm moving across the country. Sold it here, then going to buy something with a little less rust out in Omaha. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, beautiful summers here but they cake road salt on the roads here in the winter. They have to, no other choice, but it just destroys the vehicles.

Decided to go ahead and try plastidipping my fenders and front bumper, and if I like it black I'm gonna sand em down and rustoleum everything. So I got some frog tape, 3 cans of plastidip at lowes, went to the car wash and got to work. Yes I did the whole thing under the awning at the car wash.

Looks very nice from a distance... But when I removed the tape after doing part of the plastidip started to peel, and then I had to go back and touch it up, so the fenders look kinda shitty up close.

Oh well! I'm going to sand them down and coat them in bedliner pretty soon.
