Lots of warning lights on dash, no gauges or temp working, truck drives normal.

    Hello,

wondering if anyone has had this come up.

Started my truck right now with my remote start, ran for probably 15 min, I get in and press the brake for the takeover and I got a bunch of warning messages and basically every light on the dash.

    From what I can remember:

    Pre collision malfunction
    ABS
Brake control start override malfunction (something like this)
    And maybe a couple other.

Once I close all warning I get no reading on the gauges at all, but truck drives normal and isn’t in any limp mode. Turned off and on a few times and no change.

Not sure if this potentially has to do with it being like 113 degrees right now, truck has been in the sun all day and maybe something got hot and needs to cool down, or maybe a voltage issue.

I am home alone with my 6 month old and it’s way too hot to have him in the garage, so all I’ve done so far is pull into the garage and unhook the battery. Wife will be home in a couple hours and I will see if cooling down and unplugging the battery resets it, and will check battery voltage.

Check the IG1 and IG2 fuses. Sounds like a main bus fuse failure.

That's what I'm guessing. I've also got a '19. I'm on my 3rd battery now. 3 years is about the limit down here in the heat.

I saw that Autozone carries AGM ones now if that was something you are interested in. I've been wondering if they'll last any longer. Once I'm out of warranty, I'm going to try one.

I'd take a close look at the remote start too especially since it happened right after that.

I am going to grab a standard lead acid interstate at Costco, I believe our alternators don’t out of enough voltage to charge an agm battery without some changes being made by a tune.

it’s a possibility, it’s not the first thing but is on my list.

What i do when getting battery at costco.
    take tools to change it
Make sure they have correct battery.
buy it, change it in the parking lot
take the old one back in
    DONE!

Aside from the battery, the heat shouldn't affect your truck to make it behave like that. My truck is outside in the sun most of the day and it hasn't had that happen.
While it doesn't hurt to replace an older battery before it totally craps out on you and leaves you stranded, remember that the battery was strong enough to start your truck and then it was running on the alternator, not the battery.
check those fuses as mentioned above, not just a visual but a test.
throwing parts at your truck before you know exactly what is wrong with it can get expensive.

Replaced the battery and I’m up and running normal again! Not sure if it was the battery itself or just resetting the ecu by having it disconnected for a couple hours but I’m not going to question it.

Thanks everyone for the replies and advice!

I know, I’ve been looking at doing a mini split but never pull the trigger.

I agree with you, I decided I needed a battery regardless but I would have started diagnosing after.

My lane assist doest work when it’s been outside on very hot day. Once the cab cools down it starts working. My anytime backup camera with front cam also quits working, annoying.
I need new battery too. Oh and my 19 sits mostly in a cool 82degree garage when not being driven.

And god-forbid you got some critter chewing on some wires.

Anywho let us know who/what/where/when/why ..
