My 3rd gen Tacoma, front drivers side cv is popping and clicking like crazy going in reverse or making sharp turns. Is this just a bearing that fell out of place in my Cv? I’ve got Bilstein 6112’s with shot bushing so if it extended completely it could go up to 4.5” of lift which I’m thinking could be ripping the cv joint bearings out? Not sure but I have brand new cv’s I’ll put them in. Any of you guys have any other ideas that would come to mind?

Sounds like the cv joints have gone. If it pops and clicks going forward full lock right and left you can confirm it. Extreme joint angles accelerate wear and can cause them to bind on joints that are borderline as well.

Had a similar noise, but it was my LCA bushings. Maybe something to look into as well.
