Hey guys. I'm getting this loud clunk when my truck's suspension is getting articulated and I just can't figure out what it could be. Just wondering if anybody else's Tacoma is doing the same thing. We checked all over the front end for chipped paint or any kind of wear mark but we found nothing. I've driven lots of other Tacomas way harder than this for work (forestry) and I've never heard this noise in any other truck so I'm thinking something must be wrong with mine. Any input helps.
Here's a link to a video of that clunk.

    Big thanks!

Damn that shits loud, thought someone threw a rock at your bedside tbh till i watched it a few times. How long has it made that clanky clunk sound?

Are the top plate nuts and all shock hardware tightened down to spec?

Lower control arm cam tabs. Tighten them. Also inspect your ball joints.

As this guy also said, LCA nuts (or cam bolts?) tighten those bitches good.

I bought it brand new in 2014 and it's been doing it since day one. I brought it to the dealer to check it out and they said everything's nice and snug up front. I'm almost thinking it may be an issue with the frame flexing more than it's supposed to at this point.

I'd say check the front and rear cam but bolts. Mine were loose from an alignment and only one of the bolts was loose causing the problem. I think the torque spec is like 155lbs if you're 2wd but can't remember for sure.

I couldn't figure it out for the longest time until I actually got under the truck and checked the cam nuts like I should have to begin with. To busy tearing everything else apart because I thought it was the upper arm uniballs lol.

My first thought was LCA ball joint.

Yep... Same thought here. Sounds just like the noise I had... just louder

My skidplates make a similar noise when flexing at low speeds
