I have a creaking coming from my front driver side corner. Sounds similar to that video.

I looked at the rubber covering both the LBJ and the tie rod, they both seem intact. My truck is a 95, but it spent its whole life in CA until I brought it to MA last summer(its not very rusty). I just noticed this creaking last week.

I saw people injecting grease under the rubber fittings. Has anyone tried that?

Well I checked under the drivers side wheel again and found a tear at the top of my lower ball joint. I sprayed some WD40 in there and the creaking stopped. Im planning to just replace the ball joints on both sides.

I am at a loss, I thought it was the Uca ball however it returned & sounds like it's from behind the skid plate however it comes & goes... I am going to borrow my daughters stethoscope & either Lose my hearing or figure this out.

Ok, the conclusion on my truck it was the UCA uniball is using the Boeshield T-9 Waterproof lube, this product has lasted far longer than the other products I tried and must penetrate better, knock on wood I have had no issue for two months since I used it, hope this helps.

I have the same issue as you, AND I have the same setup, Icon Stage 3 with the Tubular UCA, however I have a 3rd gen.

Have you figured out what it is? The mechanic that normally works on my truck is not available until next week and this issue is driving me crazy...

Has anyone found it be the CV joint? I was looking to try and lube both sides, but cant figure out how gracefully get the rubber boot off without tearing it up.

Not the CV, CV is a closed system and won't lose grease unless you blow the boot.. it's the UCA uniball. Just clean it out. Grime gets in there and wears them. ICON released new replacement Uniballs at SEMA, should fix the issue.

    Keep yo balls clean

Some people use dry lube to keep them lubed without attracting dirt

Yep I just took mine in for service. It was the uniball on the UCA.

I have since got the Icon caps for the UCAs and the bags for my coil overs.

My 3rd gen w/ Icons (uniball UCA) recently developed similar noises. I've got uniball caps and coilover covers on mine. Sprayed some dry lubricant into the UCAs and at the shock shafts yesterday, but after minimal driving, the noise persists. I wonder if the grease didn't get "worked in" yet, or whether it's something else... Truck's going in for service tomorrow, will have them take a look at this, too.

I'm getting a similar noise but only when it is close to hitting the stop on the passenger side. Any ideas?

For me having two Toyotas with Icon UCA I have been sticking with post #28 and its been working great. I put a bit on the clean ball joints and I'm done. And knock on wood its now been months and no noises. I tried other products and they did NOT hold up two days. Also and one with the caps, I had the caps and read a post on moisture getting trapped in there and sure enough the top of the bolt was showing the beginning signs of corrosion, pulled them off permanently. Good luck

Noise went away after time and more lube on UCA ball joint.

My truck started making squeaking noises after off roading and turned out to the uniballs on my UCAs that needed to be lubed. Squirted dry lube all over that bitch, now the sound is gone.

Thread revival as I'm having the same problem. Going to try spraying my TC UCA uniballs first.

What dry lubricant spray do folks recommend? I see some Dupont products as well as good'ol WD40 Dry spray available on Amazon.

    Just some stuff...
Thread revival again.... Did spraying dry lube on your uniballs work? Would CRC Dry PTFE Lube work? I'm only hearing it when I turn right, but that's enough to drive me nuts!
