So I already put a down payment on a 4 cyl Tacoma Access Cab on Saturday, and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. I test drove a 2010 4 cylinder about a month ago and the exhaust/drive in general seemed very quiet. When I was test driving the 2008 it sounded quite a bit louder though. It only has 24k miles on it and I had asked a couple times making sure there was no mechanical problems with it and even looked over the Carfax for it and there was no issues. My question would be this, does the exhaust get louder after that many miles? Should I be worried about something like a cracked muffler or pipe somewhere?

My 09 sounds like it has a mild exhaust on it, dead stock. Seems with a few miles that it gets huskier? I've got 43,000 miles on mine. Anyways, I actually enjoy it. Not loud by any means, just a little meaner sounding.

Ahh yea that's probably it. In the back of my mind I was kind of hoping that maybe the previous owner threw on a new exhaust or something and did some mods to it. It actually sounds ballsier then the 2010 I drove and like it a lot more...
