They need to use a ball joint press if they can get it in there or swing enough out of the way.

I ordered a pair of those bushings, as soon as they show up i'll drop them off and see if they can do the install with them. They've got a couple of really good mechanics there, then a couple not so good ones. I'll make sure I talk to the ones i know lol

I had my frame replaced in 2018 and the lower control arms were included with the frame swap. Just my 2 cents.

The mountings are bent they can be overtightened. The bushing does not turn on the mounting it is bound between the two sides this is why it should be at road level when the alignment is done. An over looked cause of noise is sway bar bushings they ware and allow the sway bar to move side to side and "clunk" they do have a stop on the bar that bangs against the bushing holders when they ware out.

What was the end result @danteisme ?
I've got a 3rd get that I think this is happening with. Loud clunk seems to come from the passenger side when braking and nose of the vehicle dips down. Feels very predictable and like I know how to make it happen.

Mine ended up being the LCA bushings. The ball joints were fine but the bushings were toast. It was cheaper just to swap out for new LCA's by the time you factored in labor to press and repress the bushings into the LCAs.
