Ok 1st. CB should not move that much mine is tight, I think that is your culprit , but I could be wrong. Zerk shouldn't move but you could try to tighten, if the middle u-joint isn't taking grease replace when you replace CB, and make sure you get greasable u-joint. That's the sound my CB made when it went out not too bad to replace. You can do it, just like you've been doing watch video's and you good to go.

Alright it's all fixed. Huge thanks to everyone here for the help.

Was working this week to get parts together and my neighbor kept going on about a garage 3 blocks over he swore up and down about, recommended I talk with him as they're super reasonable. Showed up in the morning and his recommendations lined up a lot with what I've read in other threads (i.e. if you're replacing 1 U joint, replace them all, etc.)

He quoted me at $550 for 3 U Joints and the CB, said he could get it back in under 24 hours. It's a cop out I know, but with the cost of a rental car and the quick turnaround time, I went for it.

3 U joints and CB replaced, he said one of them was about to "fall apart" although I didn't get a chance to hear which U it was or talk to the actual tech who did it. His thoughts were it was likely due to aging since it's 2011 but I've also driven my truck on the beach a lot, wondering if sand/salt water had a hand in it.

The squeaking is gone and holy hell y'all, the vibrating that I had gotten used to was soooo bad. Honestly worried that I F'd something else on my truck with how long I let it go on for?

Also curious if I got taken to the cleaners for $550? I go back and forth between kicking myself for not doing it and being glad it's done.

    Thanks again

Given what even halfway decent work costs these days, and how long it takes (from personal experience, multiple times) to do that job well, that's not bad at all, assuming you got decent parts out of the deal and not just whatever was cheapest.

I was told once by a mechanic, take the cost of the parts and double that for labor. Add tax I think you did fine. 1 and done just make sure you grease those u-joints every oil change, and you should be good to go.
