Started her up this am and noticed what sounded like a valve tap more then the Taco tap. Even opened the hood to check it out. Seems to be coming from the driver side. It was actually the warmest morning in months or I would have just blamed it on the cold.

Truck is ready to hit 9k. Just had the oil changed 2 weeks ago. Sounded a little better by the time I got to work but still louder then normal.

    Anyone else experience this?

Mine does seem to tick louder at times...maybe I'm just paying more attention sometimes...or maybe my music is turned down too quiet. :D

The stealership did. I have the free maintenance for 2 years so I'm just letting them do it. I'm gonna go check it out to make sure everything is as it should be.

check your oil I dropped below the min level once and the tick was louder. This might not be the case but its an easy check.

I find my truck ticks more on the DS than the PS. Also, if you're parked right beside your house (or any other building for that matter) the tick will be amplified, as it bounces off the wall of the house.

Mine does it more from the d-side as well and is actually more audible inside the cab

Cats or transmission flex plate. I've had both...both were covered under warranty.

I have a random tick that sounds from my drivers side that came out of no where. I speed up it gets faster same as slowing down. Sounds like a rock in tread but it's more along the lines of a creak and not a tick. Anyone have suggestions in what to look at?
