I work on the West side of the river and live on the east side. 30min in to work, 1-2 hrs to home.

Condolences. Whenever I have to hit a client's site on that side of the bridge, it's either leave to head back at 3pm or stay until 6:30pm.

Kinda the same here. If I don't leave by 4:30, I camp out until 6:30.

I work on Sherwood, so I take the back way to get home (Old Jefferson). Usually not that bad.

Or you could stop off at the Londoner until traffic dies down. Burger night and good beer FTW!

I work right by it. Eat lunch there at least once a week. Don't even have to technically stop since I can walk to it.

    Damn window tint laws! :frusty:

I bought my Tacoma in GA. When it was delivered, they forgot to bring me a temp tag, so I had to wait for them to mail it to me. I got the temp tag in the mail last week and finally got a chance to go get the truck inspected today.
    NO GO!
Apparently the window tint law in GA is 35%. In LA, It's 40%. The meter at the inspection place read 32%.
Now it looks like I'm going to have to rip the tint off my brand new truck and get it redone. Just the front windows, but still sucks. :(

This probably won't be the last time you have an issue with the State of Louisiana's laws.

Find a different inspector. The guys that tinted my windows on my first 16' told me to just bring it to them for the inspection. Find a shady looking shop and do it.

A coworker asked me if my tint was legal because it looked dark to him, so I looked up the GA & LA law on window tint. Once I saw that they were different, I had a feeling it might be too dark. He told me a place to try. He said he had illegal tint on his Mustang (even had his windshield tinted), and they gave him an inspection sticker. So that's where I went today and it didn't work for me. I'll try a couple other places. If it doesn't work out, I guess I'll just rip the shit off and have it done legally.

GA also doesn't have inspection stickers.

The few places I know of that used to give inspections tags regardless of tint all got fined sometime last year.

There is a place in Denham Springs of Hwy16 near the I12 that might give one out.

I have 15 on my front windows with a 5% strip on the front and have no trouble. Just depends where you go.

Yup, I was going to say this too. Someone will probably do it. I hate inspection stickers, its just another way for the state to get $10 bucks out of you for no reason.

If they already failed you and put the orange sticker on the windshield, no other shop will do it. But if they didn't put anything, just said they can't do it, you should be ok once you find somewhere to do it.

Be glad you don't live in the BR area. They're $18 here.

    Just a few
That's crazy, I live in Mandeville and work in BR. Usually takes me an hour and 15 each way. I found that if I don't get into the Denham area until 8:30 ish or later I miss all the traffic and if I leave by 3:30 or 4 I miss most the afternoon traffic.

No rejection sticker. He just let me know he couldn't pass it. One of the guys offered to tear it off then pass it. "It's real easy to do", he said. I thought he was joking. He rolled the window down a little and Rubbed the edge of the tint. I stopped him and told him "no thanks dude" lol

Passed inspection without having to rip the tint off!
Some people told me to go with my windows down. Others said that might look like I was obviously trying to hide the tint, so I drove up with just the drivers side window down and started shootin the shit with the guy. He plugged the truck in for the emissions test and didn't check horn, lights, or anything else.

That's how you have to do it around here with picking the right place, spend the $18, and usually they just check for emissions/check engine light
