I get my NOLA tag at the Shell on Claiborne by Tulane and they always check for the window tint. If you are not registered in New Orleans parish then you just need a State tag and back when I wasn't living in NOLA the window tint was never checked by any of the State tag places.

Did you lift your truck yet? If so, did you do it yourself or use a local shop to install it? TIA

    Yeah, I did it myself.
I put Bilstein 5100's in front (+1.5") and a block in back (+1").

Once I decide what rims and tires I want, I'm going to go up another inch in front.
Probably with OME 888 springs and re-use the 5100's.
For the back, I'm going to remove the 1" block and put a Dakar leaf pack.

I think I've decided on FN FX Pro wheels. Not sure which brand or size tire though.
    If I go with BFG KO2, I'll pribably get 275/70 17.
If I go with Cooper STT Pro, I'll probably get 265/70 17.
    I don't think you can get STT Pro's in 275 and I don't want to go to a 285.

    thanks for the info.
I've called most of the local shops in town and they all want to do a spacer with block, which I'm not wild about.
I'll probably order similar to what your setup will be, OME on front, 5100s all the way around, and a 3 leaf progressive AAL.
I want to keep some rake ( 1/2 - 3/4 inch). So I guess 2" front and 1.5" rear. I need to measure how it sits now. I have a toolbox in the bed and pull a trailer with a SxS, etc from time to time.
I have 265/75R16 Cooper AT3s right now with stock suspension, so I'll keep those for a while and go with something else down the road.

Any shop that wants to sell their lift will want to sell that type of lift. You would need to buy your own lift, and find a shop to do it. You're located in BR? You could probably find a shop there, or find some local yota guys to help install. It's not too bad to install yourself.

Yeah, I live in Zachary. 4 wheel parts gave me a quote for an OME lift. I'm going by there tomorrow, they said they're having some sort of sale and get together with jeeps, trucks, etc with food and drinks. I don't have many tools to do it myself. I go out of town for work some and it would be convenient to drop it off at a shop and come back and pick it up later that day or the next day.

I know the feeling about being on the road. Deff price around, OME is a great lift.

I've been looking, so far most are pretty close in price on OME. that's what I'll go with after extensive research on here. pay for what you get...

Nice FJ for sure! One of the nicer ones I have seen, but I'm sorry, the only thing I can focus on is the lady in the background, and gotta admit, I would prob try to help her with whatever she is trying to get out of her trunk

Did you buy it in Louisiana or did you have to find it out of state?
    Auto or manual?

Nice. I did everything over email and phone. It was in Georgia. Hard to find manuals around here.
