EBR Parish came through rather well, aside from the power outages. If y'all need anything, pass the word along. I'm willing to help where I can, when I can. Y'all know how small a 1st gen DC is, but I have a 5x10 utility trailer too.

All good here. LP west of Holden seems to be in pretty good shape aside from power outages and gas shortages

I hope all you guys are ok. We took a beating in Houma. The worst storm I have been thru but my house is still standing. The expected shingle lose and some vinyl boxing is missing. Knocked down every tree in my yard. The Weather Channel said we were almost a Cat 5 in my area. Everyone in the neighborhood had some kind of damage. We knew there would be power outages but now Entergy is saying that it will be the end of September before we see electricity. We got city water back on last night. I was getting buckets of water from the pool so we could flush the toilets. My youngest girl just got an email tonight from Nicholls State that the windows in her dorm room were blown out. It took them 4 days to notify people??? Yesterday my natural gas generator quit working so I had to buy a gasoline one at Lowe’s. The Gasoline short is a real problem. I waited in line for 5 hrs this morning. Our cell service is spotty at best. But we are all safe and no one in my family was hurt. Down town Houma was destroyed. We will rebuild. I am proud to say that most of our neighbors are try to help each other and really happy that they are helping the elderly. It makes the humans stand out from the idiots.

Glad you're okay, brother. Sorry to hear about the fuel issues. I'm hoping some of the madness dies down a bit here in BR as power comes back, so that resources working and shipping excess fuel here can divert to more heavily impacted areas. Keeping everyone in prayer!

I know Fourchon was smeared. Mud all over and warehouses smashed. It’ll be back within a month. Too much money and oil passes through there.

That’s my house on the left buried under two oak trees Monday morning. We made it, house took a beating. Tuesday afternoon my brother in law and his family came in from North Louisiana and by Wednesday mid day we had everything off the house and the roof patched up. Hoping we see power restored in the morning, they’re all lit up just a little down the highway.

Hope everyone’s family and friends are okay, this rattled me worst than getting mortared when I was in Iraq.

Hopefully you guys are still ok. We are starting week 2 without electricity but gasoline is getting easier to find. Only a 30 minute wait on instead of 5 hrs at Sam’s.
Edit: today was 15 days w/o electricity. So we are starting week 3.

Oh yeah I forgot, I only have 2 more trees to cut up at my place, the pool still looks clear, I finished with my siding repairs yesterday, and I think I may have a good roofer for my place, mom’s and the in-laws. It’s getting brighter every day.

We’re back, power and cleaning the funk. Haven’t really addressed the outside. Adjuster coming next week. The two hardest things have been no fridge (ice chest) and no fences (constantly taking dogs for walks). Oh, and work… because lower Louisiana exploded and nothing works like it should.

We were down a week on the Northshore. Had some family come in from North LA to lend us a hand clearing our property and patching holes in the roof.

Glad to hear y'all are all doing well, and things are moving along nicely. Sorry that Terrebonne is still in such bad shape, though.

I didn’t want to “like” that… but I certainly understand. State Police in Gray supposedly got power back Friday. Things are such a mess. It’s good we all have a sense of humor down here…

Honestly, it looks like things were just squashed in Houma. Since I’m on my days off, my wife and I are taking care of everything we can for our house, my mom’s house and her parents house. It’s a ton of work but we are getting things better every day.

I had a reputable company give me a quote for replacing the shingles from the storm damage.
    $28,294 WTF!

… and the price gouging starts. I had a Contractor friend tell me roofing companies were buying entire pallets/loads to remove competitors. Funny part is, materials are such a small part of the cost. It’s the labor that costs.
If you have your roof redone, REQUIRE they leave you with 2-3 packs of shingles (for match, should you need them down the road).
