More than likely it is your tires. You can't have great highway ride without street tires. It is a give & take. If you sport aggressive offroad tires, your pavement ride will suffer. You have to find a balance. I'm sure there are many people on here that have found that good offroad & on road tire.

Even some road tires suck for ride. I had Bfg Goodrich gforce tires(awesome handling tire, very grippy) & the ride was horrible. I switched to Nitto NT 420's & the ride improved greatly, and still grippy.

I put on a set of Safari TSR load range E, and much to my surprise, the ride quality is noticeably better than the stock Dunlops, not to mention a lot better looking. They are a little bit noisier, though. Not obnoxiously so, but if you're listening for it, the noise is there (the stockers were dead quiet).

I have 275/65/18 DTs on 18x9 rims. The truck is lifted 2.5 in front and 1.5 with AAL out back, 5100s all around. I did get LR UCAs to get caster correct so the follow the groove wandering is gone completely. The DTs are 32x11x18 and are E load. My truck has no issues with vibes, rides & drives fuckin great loaded or unloaded & only has the slightest of hum on the frwy from the tires. I'm using TRD progressive coils instead of the base model linears. I'm running 45lbs in the tires (they are E load and say 35-80 psi) It's not plush like LT offroad by any means but is plenty OK for a prerunner and what I would attempt in it being a daily driven multi-purpose truck.

From the pic you have way more than an inch of lift up front. Yes 18 inch rims means heavier tires with less sidewall and harsher ride. What are your rear shocks? What do your cv angles look like?

Your 18" rims and E-load tires are definitely affecting the ride. I noticed a difference in stiffness going from my 265/75/16 C-load duratracs to the 285/70/17 D-load duratracs I have now. It's noticeably stiffer going over bumps.

Yep, the 10 plys are a logger/crew vehicle ride. drop to a 8 or less and it will be more plush. a buddy bought a 2010 V6 4 door and mounted up some Schwab/Toyo M-55 10 plys and wonderd why it rode so rough. You'll never use the load rating of a 12 or 10 ply unless you bought the truck for a work vehicle with lots of weight in the bed or a constant load.

Unless 18s are what was on it when it was purchased, didn't want to add another 1000 to swap rims, wanted Duratracs & all 18" Duratracs are E load. I don't think it's a total waste with the shitty state of pavement nowadays and the amount of fucking trash and debris on the roads too. The only time mine have ever seemed harsh was once doing some moderate offroading without airing down and it wasn't like I was getting tossed all over the cab either. I still ride aluminum framed hardtail mt bikes in 25-40 mile incriments without using a $150 seat so my buttometer and may not be ass sensitive as other's..........That being said, on the next set of tires I will be going back to NTGs in a C load for mpg, less money, better treadwear rating and silence on pavement.

I have the Toytec coilovers as well set at 3". I had 5100s before that, set at 2.5". I also have the Builtright UCAs up front. In the back, I have the TSB springs and the Toytec AAL for TSB. The ride with the coilovers is much nicer. Plus, UCAs corrected my wandering problem (LightRacing UCAs at the time, Buildright now). At 2.5" the camber was off so the tires rode like this: \ / which makes the truck wander more. Mine were off enough that I could actually see it when looking at the front of the truck.

Here's an old picture of the coilovers with Light Racing UCAs:

I bought the coilovers back when they first came out (which is why they're silver instead of red). I got mine on a group buy and ordered them before they came out ($350). The $429 price is what they've been selling for since.

I have a 1st gen so I don't know if me posting a pic of my truck would help you much. With no weight in the bed my truck has a very slight rake with the bed higher. Toytec makes great stuff.

Yeah, new UCAs will help, especially with any wandering your truck does.

I like what you did here :p

How does the 2.7 push around those 33's? Im debating on going with 265 or 285s duratracs for mine. How bads the gas mileage?
