This “short trip” was 113 miles - not 3 miles downhill. I forgot to add this was with 650 lbs of passengers and 150+ lbs of fishing gear.

I refilled the tank this morning. The full tank included 5 or 6 days of heavy traffic light in city driving before the lake trip. Average full tank fuel economy on the dream meter was 22.8 mpg. Full tank mileage calculated trip miles driven divided by gallons to fill was 22.4 mpg.

When I post my computer read outs, it is meant as a joke. :D;)

Yep, you can trick the instrument cluster readings, highest I have seen is 69 mpg…in reality I am averaging 22.5 per tank, lowest I have gotten is 17. Do have a hand written fuel log too, computer seems to be a tenth too high compared to my hand calculations.

That would be nice, though happy with the 21 coming off of 15 in my 1st Gen, was lucky to get 265 miles a tank with that truck. Consistently getting over 400 with the new one.

Yep, that kinda works although it does not mention miles traveled. Stop briefly at every vista lookout on the way down the Rockies? (kidding of course.)

Posting pictures of the gas pump and distance to empty screen don't really prove anything.

Tells the average per tank. The instrument gauge is misleading, doesn’t tell the whole story…I can trick it to get super high averages, but at the end of the day [tank] is what the truck is really getting. Even then it is about a tenth too high compared to my hand calculations.

You say it tells the average per tank.. is it mislabeled because it says trip 1 through trip trip 5. Is there another screen that displays the average per fill-up?

Yeah it is like the the two screens are labeled wrong, the cluster should be trip…and the informant should be tank average. I reset the informant screen at every fill up.

There is this screen too. My recent average speed is low since only did a short trip in town.

Here's one of my best runs.. there isn't a super long downhill in Virginia, DC or Maryland to spoof a trip this long (135 miles.) There *might* be super long downhills in NC but the accompanying uphill climbs would absolutely murder the 99 mpg downhill averages.

I generally go ride the dirt bike once a week, to the trail head I get 18-20 up the mountain, and high 20s on the way back. Then back to the daily work commute…overall tank averages have been right around 21.5-22.5.

Trip averages, and see nearly 30 mpg…then say to myself OMG almost 30! Then fill it up…errr not really. Still much better than my 1st Gen, that thing was 15-17.
