Yes, I have tons of build pics and I am an engineer. It is painted with por15 exhaust manifold paint and the chassis is commercial imron. What are you using for a tank?

Im probably going to use 24" 3/16 or 1/4 steel pipe. Thinking around 48" maybe 60" long for the cook chamber and the firebox around 30". Stack will be either 5 or 6" pipe at around 4ft. Probably a dumb question but did you por15 the inside? I have never made a offset cooker or actually cooked on one but would like to start a business one day. So i figured might as well build a decent size one to start. What size propane tank did you use?

No paint on the interior... The tank size is going to determine the firebox size. The firebox determines the height and diameter of the stack. The height of the reflector plate in the bottom of the tank creates the "throat" which is very critical as well. How thick is the wall of the pipe? My rig was not an accident, there are drawings and a s&@! Load of math.

Im probably going to run 1/4" pipe need to keep as much heat as possible with the colder weather. I will also be making the firebox insulated as well. Wanna make some extta money? I figured i would make the stack taller and cut it down if needed.

I always pay it forward bro... Math is free in my head. 24" diameter tube, 72" long? Up in Canada, we will oversize the firebox. Insulation is not needed, but you can do it if you want. One door or two? I went one, but I am running a thinner wall tank. You gonna run a warming cabinet?

Rounded ends don't make that much difference in flow. Traditionally we want a 1/4" plate in the bottom. I assume you know that it is a reverse flow indirect cooker. We will know within a 1/4 " what size stack. The diameter will probably be 5" pipe. The plate is traditionally 5" below the bottom rack

Im probably going to run 1 door just easier to line up and seal. Havent thought of a warming box but would be nice. Do you think a 6ft cook chamber is too big to start out? Or should i do a 5ft or 4ft? I will still insulate might be some very cold mornings not sure if i will just use air as a buffer and double wall or use roxsul.

I do know what reverse flow and i can see you did that with yours. Im still on the fence about doing a reverse flow or just normal offset and have the stack come off the end and in the middle of the chamber and the same height as the grate.

Roxsul is the way to go. We don't insulate the top if we run a warming box. What have you got for shop and resources? I built the trailer, but you can rework a boat trailer or something

Well my shop will be my friends garage and i dont know what you mean by resources. But he and another friend are both welders amd have all that stuff. I dont have a trailer yet but will be getting one. Is there anyway to have the warming box with a slide shut door or will it even matter. Just thinking maybe a pul out insulated slide if not in use and just pull it out when needed to keep the heat better.

Reverse flow it the shit... Even temps all the time. You can get two racks in the tube. Plasma arc is huge in this game. You want a trailer rig or a stationary?

My firebox has a false floor with an ash pan.... The fire is actually suspended up off the floor on grating and the air comes in from underneath. Believe it or not, the trailer jack controls the temps by raising or lowering the end. The cooking racks are actually drawers made of 1"X1" square tubing with expanded metal for cooking

Here's the rough numbers on my rig. The tank is 6'6" long, 24" diameter. The plate in the bottom is 7 1/2" off the bottom. The firebox is 24" wide, 24" tall, and 24" deep. The bottom cooking rack is 5" above the reflector plate in the bottom of the tank. The chimney is 30" tall of 5"diameter. The firebox is recessed in 6" into the tank.

Reflector plate is sloped 1/8" per foot to a 2" drain in the center. Basically you are building my rig. My box is oversized for Ohio, and I think the insulation will compensate for canada
