That sucks if so. Hell, we can't even use that magnetic fairlead. What's the world coming to.

But, there does seem to be some capability there, compared to stock. It would almost be interesting to test on a totalled Taco?

I actually had to look that up. I didn't want to believe that it was real. It's real...

I recommend getting a kinetic rope. It’s also known as a bungee rope.

    Snatch strap is good too.

I tried this before launching a post with the snatch straps. Be sure you are on flat level ground. Any off angle will roll the wheel on its side. If you can pull straight back and keep the tire upright it will work. I got one out this way but the other was on a hillside and didn't work. Note that the longest seconds ever are from the moment you look in your rear view mirror after hearing the 'schtup' of the post pulling out and seeing no post to the moment you finally see it land somewhere. The first thought is 'well, THAT could have gone through my grape...'.

Regarding the post puller, I had a person come to my house a couple years ago to install a temporary electric fence so she could let goats eat all my poison ivy. The fence had to be reasonably strong because if you leave the goats in too long they will get bored and bash it (goats are cool). When she came back, she used a hand chain post puller and it was a breeze. Not heavy and lots of leverage.

I'm going to call the demon bracket mfg tonight and see if they'll give me a load rating on the Taco models. I like the U-wrapping of the bracket around the frame. Seems like it would distribute the load better than two flat pieces of metal bolted together. BPF says 8250 rating. Don't see a rating for the SOS version either.

I was in the exact same situation about a month ago. We were opening the cabin up for the season. First time up and about 3 ft of wet snow. I slid into a ditch with snow up to the frame and door. Had to hop out on passenger side. That's exactly how we did it. Took about 3 tugs and resets. Plus alot of digging w shovels. Being prepared rocks :headbang:

    Duck those rocks!

I think the snow might finally be gone for a good wheeling / camping weekend.

    I could use it!

    Thanks!

I think his bad one back the cul de sac, so I think it would be an easy pull for the first couple to sort that out.

Yeah though, things disappearing from view is never a good thing.

It would be interesting to hear what they say. Thanks for that!

    Nice!

We were just up a couple weeks ago and there was a wet, deep section for what looked like 1/4mi, so we should be in the same boat now.

Wow! I was just there on the OBX last October of 2019! Here are a couple of pics of my 2019 TRD Sport at one of the beach access points about halfway down Hwy 12.keithtruckobxbeachaccess20191010_074542.jpg keithtruckobxbeachaccess20191010_074703.jpg

Man, I went there last October of 2019, as I wanted to climb the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse before it closed for climbing for the winter. Not only did I manage to climb it, but when I got to the top, I was able to go out onto the "balcony", walk around, and I got some cool pics of my Tacoma from the top of the lighthouse! I also ended up climbing the Bodie Island Lighthouse later that morning, as I made my way back up the OBX. I also got pics of my truck from on top pf that too! I called that trip, "My Truck Goes on Vacation"!

My demon brackets should be here by Friday! As for my red shackles, Amazon has it tentatively arriving next week :( I will post pictures once they're in!

Ive got a 2020 SR with only the transport loop on the front end. I live in a pretty snowy place, so I'm curious about existing attachment points should I need to get pulled out from the front end. Ive read the multiple posts about after market hooks (which attach to the same frame as the transport hook) and the importance of aftermarket, off road bumpers, but I just can't seem to justify spending $100 on a hook, especially when it attaches to the same place, let alone a $500 bumper, for the chance that I may get stuck in the snow. My question is: supposing I (and the thousands of other stock tacomas) need to get pulled out from the front end, what's the best place to hook onto? Basically, if you were to run off the road on the way home from the dealership and need to get winched out by a tow truck, where would they hook on to? Not talking crazy off road recovery, just "I own a vehicle, I'm stuck, Mr. Tow truck, please get me back on the road." I get that these forums focus on mods, especially for offroading, but let's be real, you're not installing $100 recovery hooks on your spouse's Camry, but if they get stuck a tow truck somehow magically is able to pull them out safely. How would they do it with a Tacoma?
