Apparently I’m dependent on the low fuel indicators in cars.

I’ve almost run out of gas in my 2018 because it comes on at 10-14 miles left.

    Can dealership adjust this?

You can easily go another 30-50 miles after it hits 0.

The low fuel light comes on at ~3 gallons left in the tank, which should get you a lot further than 10 - 14 miles...

If its such a big deal, use analog gauge and fill up at quarter tank

I just look for a gas station when I reach 1/4 tank. Many experts recommend never letting your tank drop below 1/4. I do it because I just don't want to risk running out or having the stress of wondering if I'll make it to the pump.

I get nervous when my fuel gauge (on 2nd gen) gets below 1/2, lol.

Came on at 14 miles left. First gas station was 12 miles away. With 2 miles left I put in 19.5 gallons. That means I had 1.5 gallons to bone dry. Truck gets average 17 mpg.

I’ll just carry gas under tonneau LOL

I think i heard thats its bad for your fuel pump because its no longer submerged and can get hot.

I regularly let mine go until it say "refuel" which is after all the miles go away... I think only 1 time did I need to go over 20gal at the pump. Set your trip odometer each tine you fill up and @300 miles get some gas. You have at least 2 gal left @ 300 most of the time.

So the light came on at 2.5 gallons remaining just like it is supposed to then...

1.5 gallons left plus the ~1 gallon to get to the station after the light came on.

I take it you mean the digital readout shows (guesses...) 14 miles to empty? They are gonna display to the 2.5 gal "Bingo" limit so you actually don't run out of gas.

lol me too. I feel like after 1/2 it drops way quicker making it harder to judge how far I can really go. XD

So it isn't just me. I know it is due to the bobber in the tank, but yeah, that last quarter seems to go really quick.

If you come to CA, take my LX570 for a spin. Its neat to watch pressing gas pedal on highway, and as RPM/Speedo climb, direct relation to the gas gauge going down. Then again at 11-13MPG, it makes my Tacomas feel like a Hybrid prius :D

I don't trust my gas gauge. it barely moves until a 1/4 left then it jumps to empty

My cousin has an old Chevy C-10 and lives on a questionably legal grade cul-de-sac. To get the 100 yards up it requires a minimum 1/8 tank.

    Very similar:

My 94 FZJ80 gets 12.86 on the highway. I understand your pain.
