Howdy everyone, I’ve got a 2022 Off Road that I’ve had for 6 months or so now and I’ve noticed that the low fuel light comes on quite late. Usually when it says I have less than 20 miles left til empty.

Anyone know if you can/how to change this setting? This is honesty pretty trivia,l but I was hoping to have it come on at ~40 miles so that I can plan my gas stops better on long road trips. Thanks in advance!

Does your gas gauge not work?

You can adjust your dash display to always show miles until empty. Not exactly what you are looking for but that’s probably as close as you are going to get.

interesting; usually the complaint is, that it comes on too early,,, like a warning before the warning.

Time to learn what your fuel gauge shows you. Tacos have a 21.1 gallon tank. What's the most you've ever put in the tank at a fill-up?
The Distance To Empty (DTE) is notoriously variable and often quite inaccurate (read 'conservative').
I have driven past the 'Get fuel Now!' by quite a distance and the most I've ever put in the tank at a fill-up is 19.4 gallons, which translates to a REAL DTE of about 27 miles (assuming 16 mpg).
BTW, welcome to TW! Be prepared for some sarcasm here.

bro, you still have at least 3 gallons when the range says 0. at least on my truck it only took 17.5 gallons when the range said 0 and the fuel tank holds 21 gallons.

Damn guess I don’t live dangerously. Or you’re road tripping in heavily populated areas.

My guide is plan to fill up around 1/4 tank, so I always have options if something unexpected comes up.

Side note, if you drive up in the actual winter areas keep at least 1/4 tank on trips (ie. fill up even sooner) so you literally don’t freeze to death if you get stuck somewhere away from a town.

I don't think I can be of help with that, I know it's a PITA for me too but I just keep my tank full by making multiple stops.

Running the tank that low, I see a fuel pump and injector issues post in your future.

I think the problem is, You’re probably too young, and you have never run out of gas before?

I ran out of gas ONCE.
    Didn’t own a cell phone.
I walked, I walked far and long.
Then had to buy an overpriced gas jug.
Thankfully a kind older man gave me a ride back to the truck.

    A lesson was learned.
    1/4 is fill up time!

Am I the only guy left that fills up once the the needle drops below half? That, or if it's a long drive, I will fill up every 2.5-3 hours just to get out and stretch the legs a bit.

I also ran out of gas only once too about 40 years ago, made it to payday on fumes with just enough gas for the trip to pick up my paycheck and straight to the bank to cash it. Unfortunately when l arrived at the bank the teller made me aware that the boss forgot to sign the front of the check, needless to say l didnt make it very far and the rest of the day was a mess.

Half tank fillups here as well. Was stuck for several hours out of gas in a bad part of town when I was a teenager. Never again.

Never seen mine. Do '13's have them?

J/K, yes they do. But I've still not seen it.

And when filled how much do you put in? See posts 5 & 10 for reference.
