Hey y’all. I just bought a 2017 SR5. 3.5 with 6 spd auto. I have had the tranny flashed by the dealer. But it still doesn’t shift right on hills and just regular driving. When cruising along, anywhere between 45-70 or so. It I can feel almost like a slight hitch. Almost like a very small slip. But I do find that for some reason, driving with the traction control off it doesn’t seem to fear hunt as much. Is this common? Is there a fix out there? I’ve had it to Toyota 3 times in 3 months...

Very common. Is the TSB 62 done on it? Ask your dealer about it.

I’m not sure what they did to it. They just told me there was a TSB and something about flashing it. I’ll have to look at the papers. It was great at first. But now back to the crap it was doing before. Other than that it runs great. And I’m still running stock everything right now except exhaust. I just bought brand new 245/75r16. Wish I would have waited. Now I want the next size up and a mild lift. I put some sumitomo encounter AT. ( highly recommend ).

Early ones had issues. Warming up was the worst, but once past it's not too bad. Are you just cruising and you feel like it's slipping? I always run trac off. Once you've had it flashed, there's not a whole lot you can do other than go through the learning phase again, but it's mainly about learning how to work with the transmission. ECT, when to use the "s" functions and throttle control

I would suggest a pedal commander, possibly.

Pedal commander won’t do anything to “fix” the issue. It’ll make your throttle feel more responsive but it won’t do a thing for the trans. the true fix is OVtune. A secondary option is new gearing ratio (4.88 or 5.29)but that still doesn’t truly fix the issue but makes the issue a bit more tolerable.

Run it in Sport mode so it's not using the learning transmission any more.
