I bought the Kobalt low profile aluminum last week from Lowes and with military discount it came to $180 plus tax. Mounted with USA Progrip J bolts ordered from Ace Hardware online for $12. Great deal and great box for short money. UWS makes an awesome box if you have $500 to spend, but for quality and low price I vote Kobalt.

UWSs but out of my range right now. Does anyone have the black Husky lo pro from Home Depot? Any probs? Kind of leaning that direction. A little wider than most but sits nice and low from the pics I've seen.

Just went yesterday looking at the UWS Low-Pro black boxes... "Truck Supply and Outfitters" here in Tuscaloosa, Alabama sell them for $339 + tax (comes out right at $375.

Should I go ahead and take the plunge, or has anyone found them cheaper online?

I've found the same boxes used in my area for $225 - but it has plenty of scratches, anyone know how much it would cost to have a box powder coated?

Thanks, just bought one on eBay.. Guy had a buy-it-now for $250 for it NEW and said he would charge me actual shipping costs. It feels like a game of roulette though because if shipping cost $100 or more than I would have been better buying local.

Anyone know the cheapest efficient way to ship a toolbox?

snoope: Small world but I used to live in Pensacola, FL. It is actually about a 4 1/2 hour drive from my current location, but my parents live about 35 minutes from there...

The j hook standard attachment is ok. People have used them for years but deezee makes a real slick aluminum block hook that works with bed rails or the track system.
