It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
That is EXACTLY what I'm proposing! Many TW'ers have had theirs checked and been low. Everyone needs to open a claim with Toyota corp. and I want those pdfs (from dealers changing oil and Toyota corp claims)sent to a lawyer and on file for later down the road. Thats all I'm asking and think it's a hell of a lot smarter than saying "Awe shucks, nothing I can do, might as well give up"

Ok well, I think the original post gave the impression you were going balls out on Toyota right now. No harm in preparing for yourself, my only opinion is that I believe there won't be much that comes of it at this point in time.

I'm not saying anything will come of it either, but I prefer to be PROACTIVE and provide some kind of fight, as opposed to many here who think its too much trouble to fight, and the battle is over before it began.

What about 2nd gens that were prone to low diff fluid from the factory?

Actually, you guys have shown me the light. Instead of compiling all our low trans fluid claims and repairs and giving them to a lawyer, lets not compile them at all. Lets just all open up our mouth wide and ask for more.

    Fuk it, I tried.

Most of the low trans fluid were around 1/2 quart low, not 1 1/2 or more, those were the exception. The lawsuit would never be filed by a competent lawyer, why, because all of the invoices you requested show Toyota FIXING THE PROBLEM and of this time there is ZERO evidence of any damages. Lame idea.

Now maybe after the 60,000 mile power train warranty is up and evidence shows mass transmissions failing causing undue burden, then you may have something.

My fluid was good on my 16' AT. Transmission was still terrible IMO. Looking at a quick sales count from last year and so far this year, you'd have to get at least 2000 people to be around 1% of the trucks they sold in the US so far.

So instead of doing some due diligence and covering your own butt, you're choosing willful ignorance and hope of guilt tripping Toyota when things go wrong (for you) and they are no longer legally required to do anything about it?

Bud, that's like having a history of mental illness in the family line, beginning to hear voices in your head, and instead of getting checked out, hoping that you'll get away with an insanity plea when you end up on trial.

My turd gen does exhibit some of the "tranny problems". I asked my dealer to check it two times, they said "it's normal". One day I may do the procedure myself. In the meantime, I'll keep my paper work and when and if the tranny falls out, leaves me stranded or shits winged gremlins that effect my other cars, I'll call the Toyota tow line they gave me and sit back.
