I'm going to replace the bolts again with ARP. Thank you for the thorough information. Just to be redundant, I can torque these to 59?

@Nessal, you used 10.9s didn't you? Will I be fine driving for a little while at this point?

Yep, 59 for any other except the OEM black w/washer.

I wouldn't drive around with those others torqued to 85. Loosening them up and re-torquing to 59 is problematic as well. I'd just sit on it until you can replace them. Is it worth the risk? Last thing you want is to be on the freeway at a decent clip and one of them fail. I'm not that lucky so if it were me, rig is sitting until I could replace them.

I haven’t done the other ball joint yet, so those bolts are stock. I’ll get to it this week.

May I ask where you purchased your balljoint?

They’re TRQ, I’m told it can be hit or miss.

Aren't those the ones that they sell online for like $25 each?

Look, I'll put it this way. I would only use OEM balljoints on these trucks. These are critical parts especially on this specific truck due to the OE design. Failure of this part can cause death of yourself and others on the road. We aren't talking about an air filter change here. Yes, OE parts are much more but what is your health worth? I'm not rolling that dice but others might find it worthwhile. Just my opinion.

@Nessal I had no idea. I'll see if I can get a refund to some extent and snag some OEM.

I found them to be cheaper online than at the dealership. https://parts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/

Please double check these part numbers that they fit your truck but these are what I purchased for my 2003.

    43340-39436 & 43330-39556

Then you need 8 of these 90119-10933, torqued to 37ftlb.

I think I paid about 210 for both ball joints and another 10 bucks for all of the bolts a couple of years ago. Not sure what they are now.

It cost me 249 total. I already bought the ARP bolts, I’m just going to stick with those

Good luck! I check the balljoint movement with a pry bar every oil change but they should last you 90k-100k. I would change them immediately when any looseness is detected. Small price to pay when you spread out the cost over so many miles.

@Nessal thanks man, I appreciate your help. You think it’s safe to drive to work with the TRQ lbj on there until those parts come in at the end of the week?

You should be fine but I would change them once you receive them. I'm sure you're a pro at it now.
