268,000 miles on them probably. This was yesterday I Just did an 80 mile round trip pulled into a local grocery store to get my state registration sticker and was leaving. I backed up 2 ft then CLUNK the driver LBJ failed landed on rim and I jumped out put my bottle jack under truck. Called for backup, they brought me a floor jack and a 3 lb maul. Had to change it in the parking lot of HEB for those who don't know what an HEB is you will one day. MORAL OF THE STORY KEEP UP WITH YOUR LBJ MAINTENANCE. This could have happened when I was doing 65 mph on the interstate.

Yeah I guess other than just falling off in my front yard I got really lucky and nothing got damaged except for the rim got a big scrape on it.

They tend to fail in parking lots and neighborhoods and the like, low speed turns like a u turn or pulling into/backing out of a parking space put more strain on the joint. That being said there are stories of high speed failure so it’s definitely fortunate it happened where it did. Replace with OEM

This is great Advice from eon_blue. don't be cheap with the lower ball joints. Only buy Toyota parts, or you'll be sorry you didn't in the long run.

Yep I'm saving for them as we speak. I should have changed them earlier. Too bad it didn't let go next to a Toyota dealership. Good advice though.
