Just noticed that my 2011 tacos passenger side lower control arms ball joint boot has a 1/4in horizontal slice in it. Dealership informed me that the entire control arm would need to be replaced. Anyone out there have any experience with replacing just the boot or ordering just the ball joint?

Changing the boot itself is easy peazy... once you get the LBJ exposed. The boot is just squeeze-clipped on and just slides on/off.

Go to a non-dealer mecanic and ask about replacing the LBJ. Or, as mentioned above, warranty?
