Lower Control Arm Eccentric Tabs Broken Help

So took the truck in for an alignment and on the report back they got it in spec and all is good but the tech added in the notes that the LCA Eccentric Tabs are broken. What exactly is this id like to replace it since its broken!

 

Total Chaos makes some

 

Mine were bent over. So I bent them back and welded a bead down the back side so they won’t bend back over.

The alignment won't last. Weld a piece of 1/4 inch steel in place of the tab. I did it to all my tabs on both my tacos.

I dont have any way or experience welding, do the new tabs have to be welded on? Not quit sure if im understanding the fix for this sorry!

 

Yes, they need to be welded. No other way around it.

 

Edit - just took a look at them myself and the rear tabs are fine, the front tabs are there but looks like they were hammered down flat. Im going to try to get a hammer and pry bar and bend them back up after i heat them up alittle with a heat gun

 

A heat gun won't do squat on steel.

 

Better than hitting on metal that was out in the negatives all night lol

 

Bending them will make them weaker.

Hopefully you don't crack or break them off. I'd at least hit it with a torch if I was going to bend it back.

 

If you bend it back you pretty much must weld a bead behind it..

 

I used the yellow torch for 2 on my driver side. Broke one still and was able to bend the other back (not all the way, because one more hit would have snapped it). Welded the piece that broke off, back on and did a bead behind the weakened one. I'm a very careful person and still managed to break on. If you just hit it cold you WILL snap that off.

Like everyone said, TC makes a good kit. Ill get it in the summer when I'll need another alignment and do it all at that time so I'm not paying for extra alignments for no reason. After multiple alignments those OEM tabs get SO worked and weak.
