Do they make a nice guard for the lower part of the door sills? I have the nice Toyota sill guards already.

That lower part of the door opening on the body is what gets scratched the most on my truck, especially with a short GF that loves heels.

I currently just use black electrical tape and it's ok but I want something more refined and with stronger adhesive that seals tight to the paint.

Even some precut 3M vinyl strips in Army Green or Flat Black would be cool.

See pic for the area I'm talking about.

    THANKS!

Yep, between the ladies with heels and dealership techs they do get really scratched up.
I'm not aware of any aftermarket, the OEMs are about $75 each from Toyota.

OEMs? There are actually guards for that area?

Link or proper name? Google could not find them but I had no idea what to search for since sill guards come up with regular ones we all know of.

    Thanks man.

a first gen guy did a line-X type of bedliner material to his truck in the area that his foot drags across and wears the paint

could that be a good solution for you?

maybe even get it color matched!

I bought some door guards from Amazon and doubled up with grip tape. It’s held up well for over a year now.

No, not dumb. It took me a couple of minutes to understand what the OP wanted, which I don't think is commercially available.

The door gasket doesn't fit into it. It's just a piece of trim that snaps into the door sill.

That's not at all what OP is talking about. He's referring to the actual painted bodywork of the truck. The little unprotected lip directly below where a normal door sill protector would terminate.

    ...stuff
So next in line for wrong answers will be...

you can get press in window guards that attach to the top of the door

Honestly though I’ve never seen anything go there. I’d recommend using a clear 3M tape or something like it, maybe gorilla tape. That area always gets beat up so something easily replace would be the best bet

Maybe try getting a vinyl or detailing shop to install a couple of clear pieces similar to the stuff they use for hood and bumper stone-chip protection?

Yep, a vinyl wrap shop can do both sides in about 30-45 minutes. That's how long it took them to replace the black vinyl on my door posts between my front and back windows.

Thanks, I'll go talk to a place like that in town once 'Rona calms down and they reopen.
